My Story

We adopted Pedro and his sister Graycie in August of 2005. We picked them up right after our wedding and honeymoon. We found Pedro through Angel's Wish Rescue and picked him out of the litter from a foster in Fort Atkinson. He was the star kitten and I knew when I first saw him that he would be ours. He was the king of our castle and was such a loving cat. He always had a love-hate relationship with the dogs, but he always made sure they knew who was boss! Pedro was my shadow and everywhere I went he had to be there too. I can't remember a time when he wasn't on my lap if he could be. He was a very vocal kitty and would definitely let you know if he wanted something. (Or, at least thought he did!) 

This past Sunday we spent time outside together and he was so happy. He even checked on his catnip plant and enjoyed rolling on the new spring leaves. I brushed him and he was so pampered and happy. He was watching the robin in her nest by the side of the garage and was so excited. The truth was he couldn't catch a bird if he tried! I never thought that would be our last quality time together. I came home last night and knew right away something wasn't "right". I saw you in your cat bed and could tell something was wrong. I can't believe that you are no longer with us. I just can't believe it. I truly feel that 7 short years isn't long enough and I would give anything for more time. 

Here's why Pedro was special:
-He loved to snuggle with his sister Graycie and was always her groomer
-He loved to be brushed, nails manicured and just be pampered
-He was always photogenic and he liked being a ham in pictures
-He would always make grading difficult in my office and roll in the papers and demand attention
-He loved food and if his food bowl was less than half full he would definitely let you know
-He would lightly bite on my arm chicken-wing while I would brush my teeth
-He would wake me up on the weekends by pounding on the bedroom door
-He loved catnip and especially his fresh catnip outside
-He loved to jump up on the fire place until I would yell at him to "get down"!
-He loved to chew on my wreath he wasn't supposed to chew on
-He loved his cardboard chaise lounge
-He loved to scratch on the rug and everywhere elso
-He always wanted to be an outside kitty, and would cry by the door (He was only allowed outside if supervised!)
-He loved to play fetch with his glitter balls
-He loved his "Da-Bird" cat toy and would try to pull it out of the drawer
-He loved to sit up high and sometimes I would find him on top of the kitchen cabinets!
-He always greeted me when I came home
-He would always come running when I would whistle and call for him. Always.

More than anything Pedro always knew when I was happy or sad or mad.... He and I had an emotional connection and bond. That is why I am devastated about losing my beloved Pedro. I believe that souls of pets live on and I know that I will see you again in my heart. I hope you rest in peace forever. Love to Pedro always.
