My Story

 Sammy came into our lives 2weeks after our other dog ( Rusty ) had to be put to sleep. We couldnt bear the empty space that losing Rusty created in our lives so we went to a local kennels and there he was. He was asleep when we first saw him with about 4 or 5 other Labs lying on top of him. He was the biggest of them all, thats why I chose him. When we woke him up to get a proper look at him he looked at me as if to say '' whats going on here then. Cant a dog get some shut eye !! '' . For me it was love at first sight.
From day one our Sammy wasnt a bit of trouble. He was sociable. very playful and loving and absolutely gorgeous !!. His best friend was Dylan our little Jack Russell who adored Sammy to bits. Sammy, loved Dylan too. It was wonderful to see them curled up together in front of the fire or in their bed. Theirs was to be a lifelong friendship...
Unfortunately, Sammy got poorly just a couple of months before his 13th birthday and we had him put to sleep on the 12th of March 2004.
I can't expalin the pain I felt at having my beautiful Sammy put to sleep. It was especially hard for Dylan who missed his companion of 12yrs and '' looked'' for him when we went out for our  ( now lonely )walks.
For the time he was with us, Sammy brought smiles and a lot of love and affection into our lives and he will always, always be remembered
