My Story

Simon was born on April 6,2006.  Simon had a wonderful home until April 2011 with a single woman who loved him very much.  Unfortunately, Simon's first mommy got terminally ill with stage four cancer and could no longer care for him.  Thankfully, she was a wonderful person and since he was her only child, she refused to die until she knew Simon had a good forever home. 

On April 17, 2011 Simon came into our lives. He was five years old.  He was the best dog. He got to come home and meet his new canine brother a black lab named Snickers that was his age, and his new canine sister another rottweiler like him named Sassy that was 2 years old.  Not to mention his human brother A.J. and sister Rachel. Oh, and of course his new mommy and daddy.

On Friday November 16, 2012 Simon didn't eat much.  Mommy and Daddy decided to keep an eye on him. On Saturday November 17, 2012 Simon did not eat at all. Mommy and Daddy knew something was wrong. However, he had been drinking and was not vomiting, diarhea, or miscolored gums.  Mommy & Daddy had decided that they were going to really keep a close eye on him and if he didn't eat on Sunday he was going to the vet on Monday unless he developed other symptoms and appeared to be doing much worse.

On Sunday November 18, 2012 Mommy & Daddy got up to check on Simon.  Poor baby his eyes and gums were yellow. Mommy & Daddy knew something was majorly wrong with Simon. We immediately put Simon in the truck and took him to the emergency vet. Sadly, it was determined that Simon was in liver failure due to cancer. Despite going to the vet for regular checkups and our best efforts up until it was too late our wonderful baby did not show any symptoms. 

Mommy & Daddy loved him too much to watch him suffer. We made the unselfish choice to let Simon go to the Rainbow Bridge in hopes that he has reunited with his original mommy and that one day we too will be reunited with our beloved Snugglebear.
