My Story

Little Syrup was very special.  He belonged to a neighbour in our street but always come to us when he wanted feeding.  If we went out and come back he knew the car and he would run and sit on our doorstep waiting for his dinner.  The neighbour had done the bunk and left him so he adopted us.. He got on so well with our other cat and dog so we ended up keeping him.  One day we were out and a dog chased him down the street, he run and jumped up on the wall at the back of the house where he did live.  When we come home we knew something was not right as he was always there waiting for us. One of our neighbours told us a young lad with a dog chased him. We went looking for him and calling him we found him in his old back yard quite badly hurt and terrified.  We got him out carried him home and checked him over just a few cuts on his legs, took him the vets for a check over and he seemed to be ok.  not long after that he was having a lot of bad days not eating so took him back to the vet, they done blood tests on him and found he had early stages of kidney failure.  They give him tablets to help him and he lived for approx 5 years very happy little life he had with his medication as that helped him.  We never let him out after that he was an indoor cat but lived so happily with the other pets at home. On the end of his life i was up all night with him as he was very poorly, a few hours later i knew he was starting to suffer so rushed him to the vets where he was eventually put to sleep.  He never complained when he was ill and was so happy in himself. I think he was about 8 years old when we lost him. but had a lot of happy memories with him. Loved him so much and still miss him, he will never be forgotton. love and miss you always babe xxxxxx your loving mummy
