My Story

Zak came to us in 2000, I think. I was only 5 at the time so my memory of that day is a bit hazy.
He was huge, almost standing at my shoulders, and I was a tall 5 year old. He was in training to be a guide dog, and he got much to big and boistrous. His owner went overseas and couldn't take him, so we got a huge, 18 month old baby!

He was so friendly, he'd sleep on my bed, and I'd have my legs spread apart and wouldn't be able to move all night, but i loved having him with me.
He was a very well trained dog, even putting up with us riding him around like a horse.

He died in 2006. I was staying over at my grand parents house and i never got to say goodbye to my best friend. At first the vets thought he had pancreatitis, then cancer, then it turned out that he died from Tetnus.

I don't know how long i cried for, but i know that it was too long.
