My Story

I got Akira from my Step-Grandma about a year and a half ago.I fell in love with her instantly. I remember when she was a little kitten and she would go in the corner to poop because she was use to her mama helping her. I would have to get up at 3am to take her to the liter box because she would meow. I remember one night she pooped all over herself and I had to give her a bath in the middle of the night. I remember her growing up and loving me so much. When she was a kitten she use to growl for bread and tried taking it out of my hands. Soon after I had her, she had to go to my boyfriends for a bit. She got spayed and de-clawed when she lived with him. That's where their bond started out. Soon, she greatly loved him just as much as he loved her. I cried my eyes out when she got spayed and de-clawed. I thought it was the most horrible thing I've ever done. After she moved back with me, I had another little kitten and she hated her. She would always run and attack her. Eventually, I had to give the new kitten up. Afterwards, she was happy. She went back to snuggling with me and always laying on my chest no matter what. She would always get into trouble by trying to get my attention. By jumping on my dresser or messing with my homework, she would do anything. I remember she would always lay on my computer chair or sit by the vent to get warm air. We soon got a German Shepard-Terrior, they hated each other. One day she went to jump at Akira and afterwards Akira started breathing heavily. I guess it was because she was scared. Three days later, I took her to the vet because she was still breathing heavily. They did an x-ray and found fluid surrounding her lungs. It is either FIP or Feline Leukemia. That night I took her home in tears, She was going to die and there was no hope. I snuggled with her one last night, spoiling her with treats and only sleeping a few hours to spend as much as time with her as I could. Then next morning I did everything to make her happy. I then took her to the vet and had her put now. I remember before the vet walked in, she was staring at me with her big green eyes looking scared as ever. While she was getting her medicine I was petting her in a calming voice and kissing her. She soon passed. I will never forget my cat Akira. I love her so much and will miss her like crazy. Rest in Peace, mamas baby girl, I love you.
