My Story

Wednesday, July 20, 2011, Fidget Cameron was put to sleep at the FM 685 Animal Hospital in Hutto, Texas around 6:00 pm.  My husband Bryan, my sister Tanya, and myself (Stacy) was there.  About a month before his passing, Fidget lost use of his hind legs and later his left front leg. In the last few days he got to the point where he wouldn't eat or drink much and was possibly having a hard time seeing. The vet thinks it could have been something neurological such as a tumor or even something on his spine.

I acquired Fidget on 2/27/2000 from a local animal rescue organization in Austin.  I was at Petsmart looking to adopt a cat and was actually looking at another cat when Fidget reached out to me with his paw and put it on my shoulder.  I turned around and took him out of his cage and held him.  He started to purr loudly and he never once tried to get out of my arms.  I told Bryan, "This is the one."  Ever since, Fidget was my best buddy.  Every night he would sit by me on the couch while I watched TV and I would pet him.

He was a one of a kind cat that loved everyone who came through the door.  Very laid back & playful (even as he got older).  His purr was so relaxing to listen to.  Not too loud and not too soft. He was there when I was happy and would be by my side if I was sick in bed.

I cannot describe in words how much of a bond I shared with this cat.  He will forever be in my heart.  Fidget, Bryan & I loved you very much and hope that you enjoyed your life with us.  Thank you for being a part of ours.
