My Story

Our beautiful border collie Sally was found wandering the streets and took to what then was known as the National Canine Defence Leaque in Darlington, as soon as I spotted her, I knew she was mine. She had been named Ripple by the staff because of her beautiful colouring, but my step dad Derrick took one look at her and said her name is Sally, she responded immediately as though this was really her name and so Sally she was named. Sally was the most loving caring dog and her intelligence was amazing, she followed me every where and was always there for me. When I was sad she would lay her lovely silky head on my knee and look at with me with those beautiful brown eyes and always seemed to understand how I was feeling. She would come to our shop everyday and loved to meet everyone that came in, she touched the hearts of so many. Sadly on Friday 18th January 2013 we came down on the morning to find her laid on the floor not able to walk, she looked so poorly, it was a complete shock as she had been absolutely fine the day before, we carried her to the car and took her to the vets, they were wonderful with her but after an utlra sound informed us that Sally had a tumour in her spleen that was bleeding, they could operate but if it was successful would maybe add a few months to her life,I did not want her to suffer so we took the devastating decision to let her go and Sally died peacefully in our arms. The gap she has left is unimaginable I am so lost and lonely without her, she was my soul mate and best friend. Sally I just want to thank you for the 14 years of happiness and love that you gave me and I know one day we will be together again. Love you sallydog XXXX
