My Story

Tasha was our wonderful Rottweiler. We got her 8 years ago from my cousin who could no longer take care of her. She was 2 years old when we got her and were a bit intimidated by her initially. Rottweilers have such a reputation and although we wanted one, we found her a bit scary. We brought her home and finally realized what an amazing dog she was. She was smart and loving. She never knew a stranger. You would be greeted with a scary bark and a ridiculously waggy t stub tail. She seemed to understand when we spoke to her and would watch intently as we talked to her. She developed Lymphoma and we had to let her go on April 1, 2009. It was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do. She could no longer walk so my husband had to carry her in and out of the house so she could do her business. She could hardly eat. It was gut wrenching to make the decision to have her euthanized.

We will miss her. We will miss her running past us in the summer grabbing out pop bottles and running through the yard with them. We'll miss not seeing her laying in the sunny spot on the lawn, her nose sniffing the air, taking in the world around her. I'll miss her staring at me while I cook, waiting patiently and hopeful that I will drop a morsel for her. I will missnot having her here to cuddle when I feel bad, because unlike people, dogs love us unconditionally. She was a good dog, and a good friend.
