My Story

Thomas was found in the basement of a group home I worked in back in 1993.  We fed a feral mother cat and she had her babies in the safest place she knew.  My coworker and I spent the best part of a Saturday coaxing them out when they were big enough to start wandering out by the busy road we were on.  Thomas was the first one to be caught because he was so brave, he went to the front of his brothers and sisters and hissed with all 2 pounds of his might.  He was such a character and quickly established his loving place in my heart. We found homes for the rest but kept him and he was a gift, every day of his life.  He was also very jealous and almost human in expressing his irritation if he did not get the lion's share of love from everyone.  He made up for this trait by being the most loving cat I have ever known, never happier than to be curled up close by, always.  He slept in bed with me every night of his life, except after his surgery for cancer. He was a fighter to the end but his beautiful, brave body gave out. He passed away at the emergency vet clinic after every effort was made to save him.
