My Story

When you first came into our lives, I felt so sorry for you because your whole body was mattered in your own excrement. You were so small that I bathed you in the bathroom sink to get it all off you. You never even twiched when I had to pour water over your head to get it off the area round your ears. After I had finished, your puppy fur was so soft. The first night that you spent with us, you soon chose your spot at the bottom of our bed and would never settle unless you were by your dad's foot, even though we had to pick you up onto the bed or you would howl.
Even though you were so young, you never left a mess on the bed which meant that you often howled us awake at all sorts of silly hours of the day to be returned back onto the bed until you were big enough to cIimb on and off of the bed of your own accord. We still have the tooth that I caught you trying to eat that day and we will never part with it, boy. I miss walking you so much, boy. Your funny little walking habits that you used to have where you would walk so long then try to run, you never could realise that you would eventually run out of lead. No other dog could ever replace you in our hearts, no matter what. As you know, we had to take in Ellie who you loved playing with. This was only because neither of us could bear to see her being abused and we know in our hearts that you wouldn't have wanted her to go through that any more than was absolutely necessary. Now we have her, we will not part with her until the day that she is reunited with you at the gates of heaven
